we had a pretty great christmas!!

i had 3 straight days off from work. that itself was a christmas miracle! it's been over a year since i've had that!! angels sung, fo sho!

christmas eve was spent celebrating the season with my sister-in-law's family.

christmas day was spent with the kiddos, with my family, with my swetheart.

the kids racked up.. let me tell ya!!!

but boy, am i ever glad this year's holiday season is coming to a close! now, if i can get find the time/energy to un-deck the halls around my house!!

Wordless Wednesday: Santa Baby

magical.

there's something about christmas lights that make anyone smile!! they seem so magical. they make everything all better, even if just for a second. every year a local park puts on a 'Starry Nights' show. Glittering the park with pretty lights. it's so fun to drive through and gaze over the lights. my kids love looking at them!! brianna will often ask me; "mom, what if every single house put out at least one strand of lights up. wouldn't it be so pretty?!" ..it certainly would be!

I ain't no ray of sunshine.

I don't typically get sick.

So when I do, it ain't pretty.

Guess what folks?

I'm sick.

Bah Humbug!

And I feel like I am going to die!

Thank goodness the kids are at their Dads until Wednesday.

I called into work and I spent the entire weekend in the bed, literally.

I'm at work this morning, barley getting through.

Exhausted and ready to pass out.. at least Monday is half over, right?!

I'm going home on my lunch break to take a nap. Maybe I'll wake up all better.. you never know!

In other un-related news..

Got the estimate back, $2,000 in damages.

Whoa!

$2,000 in damages to my SUV and not so much as a dent in her tiny car. Crazy, I tell ya!

Thank goodness for insurance and ex-husband's who have to pay your deductible.

I've been on the hunt for some cute black flats that I could wear with more casual outfits to work. I can never find flats that fit well and I actually like. So I've kinda, sorta given up. I don't want anything super casual. But there are just some days that you don't feel like wearing 3/4 inch heels. Especially when you're getting winter temps that don't reach above 35 degrees.

Insert Crocs. I've always been anti-crocs for adults. Crocs like these are NOT for adults. Tacky, tacky, tacky. I can't say it enough. Men can defiantly pull them off more than women, but still.. have you seen an uglier shoe? Really people, Crocs are for kids!

Lions.. and cats and dogs and HAIR??!

Last week we went to the circus.

Boy, the circus sure has changed since I was a kid!!

I remember lots and lots of animals, at least 3-rings, horses, elephants, sparkle, glitter and magic.

Everyone was over the hill, there were 2 or 3 "show ladies" that were all older. They had a few lions, 2 elephants that we saw for 5 seconds, performing dogs.. and CATS!!

Women who hung in the ceiling by their HAIR!!

It was weird.

But the kids enjoyed it. However, I'm sure that if there weren't cotton candy and snow cones, we would have left at intermission.

At least I got some good pictures!!

Wordless Wednesday: Oh Christmas Tree

snap, crackle & pop.

i know, i know. i've been one serious slacking blogger. i really am trying but i've been crazy busy with work!! that and holiday stuff. i'm ready to zonk out by 8pm.

MONDAY.. how was your monday?

mine actually wasn't too bad.. that is until i hit 5 o'clock traffic.. where i happened to get into my first wreck, ever!

i couldn't believe it!! i was so shocked!

the car in front of the car i was behind slammed on their breaks doing at the least 45 mph.

the car in front of me slammed on their breaks.

i slammed on mine.

didn't help.

i smacked into the back of her.

stunned!!

i sat in my car for a few seconds.. what was i to do? it was freezing outside and i didn't even want to see the damage..

i could see the back of her car was fine, which was a bit of a relief. a few minor scuffs that would easily buff out.

once i got out to talk to her, i noticed liquids just pouring out of my car. oh boy, not fun!

we're guessing the radiator is busted and the fan is broke.

i can't drive it.. at all.

it over heats every 5 seconds.

it was towed to the shop this afternoon. i'm currently driving a rental CAR. a huge change from my suv. i feel like i'm in a go-cart and people are going to run over me.

fingers crossed that it doesn't take more than a couple of weeks to get my truck fixed.

in the meantime.. drive safe!

PS. and NO, i was not on the twatter when the auto accident occurred! ;)
