i've never been a big fan of darker lips, until this fall + winter.

i love all the plums + reds when done the right way.

i've been sporting both plum and red lips this season.

i think the trick to it is finding the brand + shade that works for you.

for plum lips - i've been using lorac sheer wash lip stain in sheer luck.

it's dark than you'd think.

i tend to layer it with different color lipsticks or glosses.

depending on my mood or what i'm wearing.

and the great part, it lasts a really long time.

i got mine from ulta.

for red lips - i've been using a freebie that i got in the mail and never reviewed on my blog. imagine that.

milani hd advanced lip color in candy apple.

i love this stuff because it does not stain. i repeat, this red lipstick does not stain. hooray!

it is full of moisture and has yet to find it's way onto my teeth.

i hate the red lipsticks that end up being so messy and get all over your face! not cool.

this brand + shade as worked out perfectly for me.

i've also seen several corals + pinks that i'm loving on other people.

but have not gotten brave enough to try myself.
